Resources Recommended by You
I recently received a lovely email from a creative writing club for children in Massachusetts. One of their young writers wanted to share this handy little Creative Writing Glossary which provides bite sized explanations of writerly terms such as 'Backstory'.
Thank you for suggesting this resource, Michele and Carly of the MPL Young Writers Club - it's always fantastic to hear from fellow writers!
Carly's interest in learning 'writer lingo' has reminded me of how many strange terms I came across when I started connecting with other writers... who would have thought writers would make up so many words? hahaha.
Anyway if you spend time connecting with other writers you will naturally become familiar with their strange writerly speak, however just for fun I'm going to start writing a little list of abbreviations, acronyms, and terms used by writers. (I won't add their meanings straight away).
