Cat Facts

Here are a few cat facts that I found interesting.
  • Every cat’s nosepad has a distinct ridged pattern. Just like a human’s finger print, each cat’s nosepad is unique.
  • Cats can jump more than 5 times their own height in a single bound.
  • Cats can run faster than people. I read that an average domestic cat can run at speeds of 30 miles per hour that's over 48km per hour!
  • Apparently cats can make about 100 different sounds.
  • Just like children, kittens lose their baby teeth.
  • The tufts of hair in cats ears are called 'ear furnishings'. Ear furnishings help to keep dirt out, direct sound and also insulate the cat's ear.
