The History of Broccoli
Yes, I spent days trying to find out the history of broccoli! But it has been around for so long that it is impossible to find out for certain when or where the first broccoli was eaten! So let's just say people have been eating it for a LONG time! My conclusion is, broccoli is a mysterious vegetable indeed...
So what do we actually know about Broccoli?
- Broccoli is a member of the Brassica family, which also includes cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts and mustard plants.
- Broccoli is a good source of beta carotene, vitamin C, folate and fibre. It also contains a wide range of phytochemicals.
