Another Road Trip

1/6/2017

I hope you're all doing well and that your new year is off to a great start! I'd love to hear about what you're all planning for the year ahead. As for me, I have a big list of projects on as usual. But I'm also looking forward to going on another road trip at some stage to visit faraway friends and family.
Here's a few photos I took as we were heading home from last year's road trip.

Visit at Grandmother's house

10/6/2015

We had a great time visiting Grandmother. She had a cup of tea in the garden and told me interesting stories. Some of them were about things that happened before I was born, some were from just last week, we all especially enjoyed the ones that made us laugh so hard our stomachs ached!

Homeward bound

10/6/2015

Regardless of how exciting holidays are and how delightful it is to catch up with friends and family.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of heading home.

I hope you all enjoyed your school holidays and are also happy to be home again.

Going Coastal

10/6/2015

My grandmother lives by the seaside. When we went to stay with her, these holidays, we went for walks along the beaches.
Picture
I've always liked pandanus trees. I used to like climbing in them when I was a child, but now days I enjoy looking at them more.
Picture
They have interesting spiky leaves, some people use them for weaving.
Picture
Growing up I spent a lot of time on these beaches. They are very pretty and there is so much to see that it's easy to walk along them beside the sea for many hours.
Some of the beaches are covered in golden sand, some white sand and some are mostly rocks. They are all different, they are all beautiful, and pandanus trees grow near them all.
Picture
The beaches with rocks are interesting to explore. There are many rockpools to find, some are big and full of fish, crabs, starfish, jellyfish, sea urchins, seahorses, sea slugs, and sea weed. Some are very small like this one.
Picture
If you look at the water in the rock pools on the right angle it reflects the colours in the sky.
Picture
The sandy beaches are fun to walk, run and play on.
Picture
Some people like to play cricket, football, volley ball, fly kites, or build sandcastles on the sandbeaches.
Picture
It's fun to look for 'beach treasures' like rocks, shells, seaweed, seaglass and drift wood.

It's also fun to leave foot prints and write messages in the sand.

Watching afternoon storms roll in with their beautiful big black clouds is exciting.

Although, walking home in the rain can be cold...

School holidays

9/23/2015

What's everyone doing these school holidays?

We're looking forward to a road trip to visit my Grandmother at the seaside.
Maybe we'll go to the beach, build some sandcastles, explore the rock pools and watch the seagulls.
