A little wallaby and her joey came for another visit the other day. It was the first time I've see this little joey poke it's head out of the pouch!

GoannaThis is a little goanna who has been hanging around near our house; he's a bit cheeky at times.
He decided to prowl about on the steps, not long after I took this shot. I guess he had run out of tasty bugs to eat. Maybe he was curious or maybe he just wanted to come in for a cup of tea...I'm really not sure. KangarooThis morning when I looked out my back door I saw a two kangaroos hopping about.
Here is a photo I took of one of them when it stopped to eat some grass. Little Insect VisitorsI enjoy the little insects who come to visit me when I am working on my creative projects. The other night a little cicada hung out with me for awhile. It had amazing red eyes and very interesting little wings. The little Cicada stayed for hours and even posed for some photos! It was lovely to meet such a beautiful little insect.

AuthorPersonal blog by RJ Simon. This is where I post random musings and share photos from strolls around the yard, road trips, and life in the Australian bush. I used to post updates about my writing and illustrating here too, but the website now has a updates section especially for that - all the new updates will be posted there.
So if you're looking for book release dates or things like that check the new: updates section. If you're looking for information about Ruby Lane here check the
Ruby Lane page or the Ruby Lane Blog There is also a:
Ruby Lane Facebook Page Again, this is my general blog so if you want to see photos of the little Australian animals that come to visit me, find out what I've been up to in the garden, or read about older works this is the place to look.
I also have a general page on Facebook here: RJ Simon
